Smart Energies was facing a growing administrative burden driven by new energy legislation and rising data quality requirements for reporting to OTE (the Czech electricity market operator) and EDC (the Electricity Data Center).

The time spent on data-related administration increased significantly after mandatory daily reporting to OTE was introduced. A process that simple Excel macros used to handle had become too complex. Every day, large volumes of data had to be reviewed in strictly defined formats, missing values had to be calculated, and everything had to be checked for accuracy. On top of that, data came from a variety of sources, from metering systems to manual readings, which made the whole process even longer and reduced work efficiency.
