Challenge
Sensible needed to further develop the SmartCoil application, which monitors the condition of air handling units in real time and uses predictive models for maintenance planning. The goal was to add new features, improve data visualization, and modernize the user interface.
At the same time, the application needed to provide more detailed diagnostics, clearer data interpretation, and the ability for technical teams to respond quickly to operational changes.

Our team quickly took over development from the previous vendor. We had to get up to speed with both the existing implementation and the HVAC domain in a short time, picking up where they left off without causing any delays. After an initial analysis, we identified areas that needed stabilization and prepared a roadmap for further development.

In short iterations, we began delivering new features and modernizing key parts of the application. We updated the main overview of all units, extended the Snapshot view with more detailed diagnostics and predictive values, and added new charts to support reporting and planning. We also reworked the data visualization and UI interactions to make them clear and intuitive for technical teams in the field.

The work also included integrating Google Analytics and developing new device management features, including editing and cloning. SmartCoil processes dozens of parameters per unit in real time and uses predictive models provided by our partner EnergyTwin.
